Introduction

The Persian Lime - also known as Bearss Lime or Tahiti Lime - is a seedless lime variety with brilliant vibrancy and zest.

History

The Persian lime originated in the Middle East, particularly in regions such as Iran and surrounding areas. Historically, Persian limes were highly prized for their aromatic zest and tangy juice.

Regions

While its roots trace back to Persia (modern-day Iran), Persian limes are now cultivated in various tropical and subtropical regions around the globe. Today, major producers include Mexico, India, Brazil, and the United States, particularly in states like Florida and California.

Flavours & Texture

The Persian lime has a delightful blend of tartness and sweetness. Its smooth, thin skin encases juicy pulp bursting with refreshing acidity and a zesty punch. The texture is soft yet firm, and very juicy.

Preparation

The juice can be used fresh in marinades, dressings, cocktails, or as a tangy accent to seafood and poultry dishes. Additionally, the aromatic zest can be used in baked goods, sauces, and desserts.
