History
Longan fruit, scientifically known as Dimocarpus longan, has a rich historical background that dates back thousands of years. Originating from the tropical regions of Southeast Asia, particularly China and Thailand, it has been cherished for its remarkable taste and medicinal properties throughout ancient times. Longan has long been associated with good fortune and is often considered a symbol of abundance and longevity.
Regions
Longan originated in the southern provinces of China, and it is still extensively grown in this region today. It has also spread to various parts of Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, where it thrives in the warm and humid climates. Other regions, such as Australia, Hawaii, and Florida, have also embraced Longan cultivation, adapting to the tropical conditions and producing their own varieties of this luscious fruit.
Flavours & Texture
Longan offers a delightful combination of sweetness with subtle floral undertones, reminiscent of lychee and grapes. Its translucent, jelly-like flesh is succulent and juicy, encasing a small, shiny black seed at the centre. Preparation
Start by gently cracking the thin, brittle shell of the fruit using your fingertips or a small knife. Once open, the succulent flesh is ready to be enjoyed. It's not recommended to eat the seed in the centre.

All orders are packed in cardboard boxes with a biodegradable packing pellets to protect the fruit during transit, unfortunately we do not offer a gift wrapping or send the fruit in a gift basket as this may cause toe bruise during transit..

Let's start by stating the obvious. Since our produce is perishable we cannot accept returns.
That said, we want every customer to be happy so we do offer vouchers, refunds and replacements at our sole discretion if your fruit has arrived inedible.
