Introduction

The Ataulfo Mango is a delectable fruit that embodies the essence of sun-soaked beaches and lush orchards. With its golden hue and irresistible sweetness, the Ataulfo Mango is a true tropical delight.

History

Originating from Mexico, the Ataulfo Mango has a rich historical background. Named after its creator, Dr. Ataulfo Morales Gordillo, this mango variety was cultivated in the southern regions of Mexico in the 20th century. Dr. Ataulfo dedicated his life to developing and perfecting this extraordinary fruit, bringing to the world a mango variety renowned for its exceptional taste and quality.

Regions

While the Ataulfo Mango's roots can be traced back to Mexico, it has now found its way to various corners of the globe. Today, it is widely grown and cultivated in tropical regions, including Central America, South America, and parts of Asia. However, it is the fertile plains of Mexico, particularly the states of Chiapas and Michoacán, that are still considered the primary producers of this fruit.

Flavours & Texture

Each bite of the Ataulfo Mango unveils a sweet, buttery taste with a hint of tropical acidity, reminiscent of apricot and peach. The flesh is silky and fibre-free, allowing you to fully indulge in its succulent juiciness. Its aromatic fragrance adds to the sensory experience.

Preparation

Choose a ripe mango that yields gently when pressed. Hold the mango upright and slice along the flat sides of the large pit in the centre. Score the flesh in a crisscross pattern without piercing the skin, and then invert it to expose the bite-sized cubes. Alternatively, you can simply peel off the skin and slice the mango into your preferred shape.

Nutritional Value

Ataulfo Mangoes are a good source of fibre, and vitamins B6, A, and C.
