Introduction

The Salustiana Satsuma is a beautifully tender, sweet ,and tangy citrus fruit, bringing a touch of Japanese excellence to your plate. It's easy to peel and mostly seedless, making it an excellent addition to smoothies and juices, or as a tasty snack for kids.

History

The Salustiana Satsuma boasts a rich history rooted in Japan. Developed in the late 19th century, this mandarin variety is a result of meticulous cultivation by Japanese citrus enthusiasts. Named after its creator, Mr. S. Sakaguchi, the Salustiana Satsuma quickly gained popularity for its exceptional taste and ease of peeling. Over the years, it has transcended its origins to become a beloved citrus variety worldwide.

Regions

Originating in Japan, the Salustiana Satsuma has found welcoming homes in various subtropical and temperate regions. Today, it thrives in orchards across the United States, particularly in California and Florida, where the climate is conducive to its cultivation. The Mediterranean region, including Spain, has also embraced the Salustiana Satsuma.

Flavours & Texture

The Salustiana Satsuma offers a harmonious blend of sweet and tangy flavours. Its thin, smooth skin gives way to juicy, seedless segments that are easy to peel. The texture is tender, almost melting in your mouth. The burst of refreshing citrus notes makes the Salustiana Satsuma a perfect snack.

Preparation

Start by gently peeling away the skin, revealing the vibrant orange segments. The absence of seeds makes it a hassle-free indulgence. Enjoy it fresh as a quick, healthy snack or incorporate it into smoothies and juices.
